New items are certified only after they have been assessed and approved. HCC reviews this form and the supporting documents (technical assessment). 2. HCC decides whether the addition can be approved on documentation, requires further information, or requires an on-site audit of the new product, line, or site. Requirements scale with the Halal risk the change introduces. 3. An administrative fee applies, and an assessment fee applies where an audit is required. Fees are quoted before work begins and are payable before the certificate scope is updated. 4. On approval, HCC issues the updated certificate and scope. An approved addition takes on the validity of the existing certificate. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SECTION F — CERTIFICATION VALIDITY -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- An HCC certificate is issued for a term of one year and is renewed through a mandatory ANNUAL surveillance audit; a longer term may be granted in certain cases. An additional inspection or audit for a product addition is in addition to — and does not replace — the annual surveillance audit. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SECTION G — DECLARATION -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I confirm that the information provided is complete and accurate, that the new item(s) will not be presented as certified or carry the HCC mark until HCC has approved this addition in writing, and that segregation between certified and non-certified materials will be maintained throughout. Presenting an unapproved product as certified, or applying the HCC mark to out-of-scope items, can lead to suspension or withdrawal of the certificate.
