HALAL CONFORMITY CENTER (HCC) USE OF HCC HALAL CONFORMITY MARK & LOGO POLICY Last updated: January 2026 Plain-text copy of the policy published at https://halalcc.org/policies/mark-and-logo-use The HCC Halal Conformity Mark is a promise to the consumer. This policy governs how that mark and the HCC logo may be used, so that they appear only where they are earned and the assurance they carry is never undermined by misuse. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SCOPE -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This policy applies to every organisation authorised to use the HCC mark or logo, and to all use of the mark on products, packaging, marketing, and digital channels. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AUTHORIZED USE OF THE HCC HALAL MARK -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - A certified organisation may display the HCC mark only on the products and within the scope stated on its certificate, and only while that certificate is valid. - The mark must be reproduced from the official artwork files provided by HCC, in the approved form. - Where required, the mark is shown with the certificate identifier or a reference that lets a buyer confirm status through HCC's public verification service. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PROHIBITED USE -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - The mark may not be altered, recoloured, distorted, or combined with other marks in a way that changes its meaning. - It may not be applied to products or sites outside the certified scope, to non-Halal products, or to any output after the certificate has expired, been suspended, or been withdrawn. - The mark may not be used in a way that implies a wider scope, a different certifier, or a recognition that the certificate does not carry. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VISUAL BRANDING & USAGE RULES -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The mark must be displayed legibly, with adequate clear space and at no less than the minimum size, and against a background that preserves contrast and legibility. The detailed rules — clear space, minimum size, colour, and acceptable backgrounds — are set out in the HCC Logo Guidelines. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VERIFICATION & MONITORING -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HCC monitors the use of its mark in the marketplace and through its verification service. Certified organisations must be able to show, on request, that their use of the mark is confined to the certified scope. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MISUSE & CONSEQUENCES -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where HCC identifies misuse, it requires corrective action within a stated time. Misuse — including use after expiry, on out-of-scope products, or in an altered form — is grounds for suspension or withdrawal of the certificate, and HCC reserves the right to pursue legal remedies for unauthorised use. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- REPORTING MISUSE -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Suspected misuse of the HCC mark — by a certified organisation or by any party not entitled to use it — can be reported to info@halalcc.org. Reports are investigated and acted on. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- REVIEW & UPDATES -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This policy is reviewed at least annually and read alongside the HCC Logo Guidelines. Questions about using the mark may be sent to info@halalcc.org. (c) Halal Conformity Center. Controlled document — not to be altered.
